My primary goal was to automate my Bali blinds, and after a frustrating experience with the Vera EzloAtom. There’s not much information on Bali blinds automation on internet or even their manual. Only thing I knew was it’s working with Zwave. I was hesitating to get Aeotec because of the price but I should’ve purchased earlier rather than struggling with Vera to work for long time – it was such a wasting time! The Aeotec Smart Home Hub has exceeded my expectations, providing a seamless and frustration-free smart home experience. The ease of setup, reliable integration with Google Assistant, and compatibility with various smart devices make it a standout choice for anyone looking to elevate their home automation. I am now not just satisfied but extremely happy with the enhanced control and efficiency that the Aeotec hub brings to my smart home.

I order two shades from Blinds.com from Bali one for $750 and the other for $400 est… Anyways I was told by SWF (Bali) that you can use them with Alexa if you order this Zwaves Switch they have… 1 the directions are horrible so I had to get on the phone with customer service. We finally got the things working but than the remote wouldn’t work in the end I had to toss the hub and use the remotes… Anyways I came across this and it took like 15 minutes to setup the blinds and the skill from alexa works way better then the one from Bali which took a 30 seconds to a minute before the commands. SWF should stop sending those crappy hubs and send this one

Very economical SmartThings hub; I have 2 in service now and tech support was helpful when one of them got moody – it just needed a restart

Very easy and quick installation. I am using this to control 8 light bulbs and a door lock currently and even though the bulbs are different brands it was easy to get up and running. I was replacing a Wink hub so I had some familiarity with the process, but the Z-wave products connected easily. My only challenge was getting the outdoor patio lights to connect. I temporarily moved the bulbs to a closer location, paired them, shut them off and moved them back to the patio. The hub has no problem controlling them at that distance, it was just having trouble pairing them.

Setup was fast in the smartthings app. Gives options to connect to your modem via wifi or hardwired. The range seems pretty good as it’s able to pick up all my zigbee devices in my house and the door sensor on my shed that’s about 100ft outside my back door

Took me a while to figure out how to get lock connected to hub. Thought I was doing everything correctly. Reading others much better reviews and keeping patience, I finally got it connected.

This hub was super easy to connect to my Smarthings App and it ended my connectivity problems. My old V2 Smarthings hub was disconnecting from Wifi – and sending me a notification, thanks for nothing – up to 8 times a day! And when it disconnected during a planned routine (like turning the lights on or off), that process would be missed.Anyway, this model has never disconnected. I have about 12 light and power controls. I deleted them from my old hub and installed them in my new hub. I thought it was going to be a weekend long project. It was about 2 hours total and that included EXCLUDING Z-WAVE devices.Note: If you’re moving from an old Samsung or other Smarthings Hub, you first need to EXCLUDE your Z-Wave devices from your *old* hub before installing in your new hub. From the Aotec site:**Exclude/unpair from the device.**1. Open SmartThings App.2. Find the device that you want to unpair/disconnect from your hub.3. Long tap on the device you want to remove.4. Tap Remove. Ensure that the LED on Smart Home Hub is blinking.5. Tap the button on the Z-Wave device that you want to factory reset. Usually, it is a single tap of the button, but other devices may have special button presses (ie. double, triple press, or press and hold for a certain amount of time).Sounds like a lot, but after you do it the first time, you’ll see that it’s really easy and quick.

After going an entire week with Wink down for who know how many times, I finally said screw them and bought a Smartthings hub. I wish I had did it years ago. Its so much nicer and easier to use. I have a Samsung phone and watch and love how it all integrates. I view my doorbell on my freaking watch! Set up was easy. The only hard part was de-registering all my zwave switches from Wink because their software is so sketchy. Adding everything into this hub was a breeze and I love all the other smart-home devices it interfaces with. Just wish Govee would get off their butts and build a driver for Smartthings. Their the only smart devices I own that doesn’t integrate.

This is my first smart home hub. I bought a house that came with various z-wave smart switches and dimmers. I did not want to use the previous owners’ hub for security reasons. Although I have no experience with other home automation hubs, I believe that I made a good choice with Aeotec and SmartThings. If you are a beginner, you need to learn how to use and pair z-wave and Zigbee devices. There are nuances of pairing devices with a new hub if they were previously paired with another hub. That’s just how these technologies work. After you get a hang of it, this is a great hub.

I replaced an older Original Smartthings hub that didn’t do WiFi (and was no longer getting updates so it wouldn’t recognize newer devices) with this Aeotec Smart Home Hub. Before I started I was concerned that I would have to re-load all my devices & routines manually because I read some conflicting comments about the hub replacement feature. However, the hub replacement option worked perfectly. I’m still happy with Z-Wave but this new hub gives me options I didn’t have before.
