I recently added the Aqara Smart Curtain Motor E1 (Rod Version, 1 Pack) to my smart home setup, and it has proven to be a valuable addition. The installation process was straightforward, and the compatibility with Aqara Zigbee ensures seamless integration into my existing smart home ecosystem. The motorized curtain functionality works smoothly, allowing for convenient control using the Aqara app or voice commands through compatible smart assistants. The rod version design is sleek and doesn’t compromise the overall aesthetic of my curtains. The requirement for Aqara Zigbee adds to the reliability and stability of the device within the Aqara ecosystem. While it may limit compatibility with other protocols, it enhances the performance and coordination with other Aqara devices.Overall, the Aqara Smart Curtain Motor E1 offers an efficient and stylish solution for automating curtains in a smart home environment, making daily routines more convenient and adding a touch of modern technology to the living space.

This thing works great with Home Assistant using Zigbee2MQTT. Has plenty of power to move the heavy blackout curtain we have covering our drafty french door. Installing it on the curtain rod is easy. We didn’t use the clips for the pleats. That being said, it was a pain to set up in Home Assistant. I knew I needed to do a manual configuration for the sendpoints since I don’t have an Aqara hub, but it took several times before it worked.Part of that problem is the way the instructions explain it. The other part of the problem was that my curtain needed to open from right to left, which isn’t the default. The instructions aren’t clear for setting the endpoints manually, which you have to do without an Aqara hub. I wasn’t sure if it needed a button press sequence at the beginning and end of the process, but every time I did this, it didn’t work. It also wasn’t stated that the trolley will move on it’s own when setting it up, but it did (no need to help it along). What worked was only using the button sequence for setting the endpoints manually when I started the process, let it proceed to the other end on it’s own after getting it started, and stop on its own..I took more than a few tries and a bit of frustration to get it to work, but it does work great and was worth the effort.I have automations set to close the curtain after we leave the house, and open it part way (the side of the french doors we use) when we return. The curtain helps tremendously with keeping the drafts out.

Originally, i had a 3/4″ EMT pipe as my curtain rod and a Switchbot. However, the switchbot always experienced connectivity issues with my Home Assistant and it just wasn’t strong enought to reliabily open/close the curtain fully every time. I decided to give this Aqara product a try and its working great so far. Connected right away to my ZigBee network via ZHA and controlled directly via HA. I did have to upgrade my curtain rod to a 1″ EMT pipe though to be able to use this, so keep that in mind. Other than that, it works great. This is a great replacement for a switchbot if you have an existing Aqara hub or ZigBee network that supports it.

I love Aqara and I have quite a few of their devices that I use in my HomeKit network. I installed this on my round rod curtains, I needed two of them, and they work like a charm. I did have to purchase a newer Aqara Hub (M2) to support the Zigbee 3. So far this has worked well. I highly recommend it as a HomeKit curtain automation solution.

I got on the Aqara bandwagon after looking at popular smart home tech Youtubers that kept recommending this company’s products. I started with the door and window sensors and have now received and hooked up a Aqara curtain motor (rod version) in my living room. Highly recommend you get the right size of diameter (1 inch to 1.25 inch diameter rods).I hooked up the motor on Monday morning after three separate trips to Walmart to get the right type of rod that would work. it’s a fairly quick gadget, not that loud, and cost me about $107 total to get one at my location here in Texas. I did hook it up to Alexa and am loving the ability to voice control the curtain. Can’t wait to purchase more of these throughout the year until the house is all setup!

This curtain driver is great! It’s pretty quick when using Apple’s HomeKit, and tugging the curtains does move them if you need to manually open or close the curtain. Just make sure you have the right sized diameter rod! Otherwise these become paperweights. I returned these because one of them didn’t fit my telescopic section of my curtain rod, so make sure you check if yours work!

I had the SwitchBot Curtain devices and they worked okay. My curtains were kind of heavy so the SwitchBot units struggled, even when they were fully charged. If they were below 50% charge it was rough. These work WAY better.Plus they work in Apple HomeKit natively!

Once I got them setup they run perfectly. Had a bit of a hiccup on initial setup in the app due to my ISP (Verizon) blocking Aqara’s china server but was able to get around that with a VPN, not Aqara’s fault.

Have 8, and they all work as expected. There are ways to work around the telescoping rods. But there are different size solid length rods out there. Imho, it’s worth the switch of the rod to have these.

Excelente producto. Se integra fácilmente a todo el ecosistema de Aqara y con Alexa.
