We have owned two of these and have enjoyed having delicious coffee from freshly-ground, excellent beans (Lavazza Top Choice, sometimes espresso version but usually filtro), programmed the night before. Heavenly coffee to wake up to. Both of our Black & Decker Mill & Brew coffee makers have performed flawlessly. To the reviewer who can’t get her filter out: use the swing-up handle on it, and it comes right out. We had the 1st over six years, and I bought a second simply bc I didn’t know how to properly clean the fine-meshed filter and it accumulated some hard debris. I scraped it out with a sharp knife! The new one, which I’ve easily kept clean for almost 3 years now, I just spray out with the kitchen spray hose, first inside, then from the outside along each section (sides and bottom). Takes only a minute. I also run it through the dishwasher every month or two and that’s all it takes. I also give a quick rinse to the funnel that holds the filter. Easy to use, SUPERB coffee that stays hot and somehow doesn’t get bitter nearly as quickly as with other coffee makers and coffee brands. Great features: select how long to grind, how strong to make, when to start brewing (immediately, or program), etc. Love it and will likely buy another just to stash in the basement to have when this one eventually goes. As grinders go, it isn’t very loud, though if our bedroom door is open, we do hear it go off in the morning…this has become a very happy sound association. After over eight years, we still get excited about getting up for a cup of Lavazza Top Class, freshly ground and brewed in an EXCELLENT coffee maker. Lower maintenance than the pricey super-automatics, way more affordable, easy cleaning, and–best of all–amazing coffee. Highly recommend.

I love this pot! It makes great coffee is easy to clean and is quiet. Mainly I was SHOCKED by how quiet it is (compared to the cuisnart) please note the following: I owned 1 grind and brew for 13 years it was used everyday. The basket door broke and I had a piece of duct tape holding it shut. My mom bought me the newer thermacrafe grind and brew. The carafe part started leaking during the brewing cycle and the replacement carafe would stop up & hot coffee would spill everywhere while brewing it lasted 3 years. The replacement I bought a glass carafe one. It lasted a year and a half. The grinder went and the door basket pops open during brewing. Same thing with its replacement.. Grinder broke door started to malfunction. DONE ! I looked at a lot of online reviews, apparently cuisnart quality is less then up to the same level it was in the early 90s when I bought my first model. I like whole bean coffee and I will not settle for a no grinding pot. I found this one on Amazon; the price was the same as the replacement grinder for the cuisnart. I love this pot. As of now I can’t speak of the products longevity but it is made wellFactors other people have complained about that don’t effect me1 the extra piece for cleaning ( two prices) I’m used to four pieces2 the fact you have to hit button twice to brew ?? I don’t have this problem on my model3 the fact the lid doesn’t come off carafe. I can still clean it so I don’t careThings that make this better then the cuisnart ( I feel like such a traitor) lol1 It has a sneak a cup feature no grind and brew ever had that2 it grinds in the basket !!! As grind and brew fans we always justify the noise the machine made I no longer need to do this there is literally no more noise4 it has a stronger brew feature and the grinder adjusts to the amount of beans 4 6 8 10 12 cups5 the water reservoir is on the outside so it’s easy to see how much water is actually in there6 the design keeps the machine cleaner. If you know cuisnart grind and brew you know you spend a lot of time cleaning grinds out of every crevice & srubbing out around the grinder part no more!!! We had a Cuisinart for years and eventually it started to leak. Wanted one that grinds the beans and brews. After reading reviews and seeing that the Cuisinart has a habit of leaking after awhile we decided to buy this Black and Decker. The coffee maker had all the features we wanted. Grinds and brews programmable, easy to read water level, easier to clean than the Cuisinart, has a one cup feature but we will still use our Cuisinart pod coffee maker for those instances. It also has a feature that keeps the coffee hot and you can program it to shut off earlier or for the whole two hours prior to shutting off on its own. This was huge for us. The Cuisinart would not keep the coffee hot after a period of time and would have to use the microwave to heat up a cup. The styling is nice and modern. The price is less than the Cuisinart. If you compare it to cars, the Black and Decker is a great “domestic vehicle”, Has a lot of the luxury features, does the job well but does not have the “luxury name”. Who cares. Just want a good cup of hot coffee …….thats it!!!!

So many great things to say about this after months of use. To start the simplicity of this brewer makes brewing good coffee effortless. You (not the coffee maker) control how many beans to use combined with the grind control facilitated us dialing in our dark intense style of coffee in just a few days’ worth of brewing. It is simple to clean on a daily basis by just pulling the filter and rinsing out the spent grounds and you’re ready to brew again. Twice a week we remove the top grinder seal by pressing the tabs together and rinsing. Monthly (we have great tap water in Eastern WA) do a cleaning brew with vinegar.From here the review is why not to buy other brands the Cuisinart’s are time consuming to clean daily and the lack of grind control and amount of beans used creates a very inconsistent cup of coffee. This is true for most other brands we have had (or others have had ) with grind and brew. I am also a very early riser and the grinder on the black and decker is quite enough that it does not wake up the whole house when making coffee. No more wrapping the coffee maker in a blanket and topping it with a pillow to try and insulate the sound. The Cuisinart grind and brew with the thermo carafe is neat but the coffee cools off quickly and the spout leaks all over when trying to pour the last cup (we have had three of these and they all do it) and the less expensive single grind Cuisinart and the Krupps require partial disassembly to be ready for a new batch of coffee and perform poorly with a damp grinder because they drop the grounds into the brewer. To top off all my other complaints they cost is over double the price for all of the competitors grind and brew units we have tried.With Amazon’s great return policies why not save yourself some time, money and frustration and give this one a shot.

I am absolutely in love with this coffee pot it is exactly what I wanted, no fuss, automatic coffee pot that grinds and brews at the press of a button or the setting of a clock!Quiet enough to not wake the entire house (though the amazing smell may) and pretty quick is say about a 10 min brew time.Easy to use, clean and understand, digital timer so you know exactly how old the coffee on the heater is (though it holds well into the day with heat ups)Everything about this machine is a win in my book, solid, well built and durable. I’m on my second Black & Decker Mill and Brew coffee maker and I love this thing! The first one lasted many years as they are built tough. Easily grinds the coffee beans (slightly loud but not too extreme) for up to 12 cups then immediately starts brewing while the beans are fresh. I buy Jose’s whole bean coffee from Costco (usually vanilla nut or seasonal pumpkin spice) and the results are delicious with almost no calories. Clean up is fairly easy because several components are removable and can be cleaned in the sink. If you’re looking for a grinder and coffee maker all in one, this is the one for you.

I have had lots of coffee pots, cheap, expensive, didn’t matter, they would all break in some way fairly early and I would tape them up and keep using. This unit replaced a much more expensive grind and brew that I never used the grinder on because it didn’t work well due to moisture from the brew cycle getting into the grinder area. With the price I had reasonable expectations and I have been very impressed! Great tasting, I use the grinder fairly often, love that it’s part of the brew basket and I find it easy to clean, easy to operate and it’s holding up very well under daily use. I definitely recommend!

You get freshly ground coffee every single day. The cleanup is great! Take everything out and put in in the top rack. The only thing to clean is the top part of the closing lid. Take a wet papertowel and clean up is a breeze. Although it’s not the best looking countertop item it’s an amazing product. I have been using this for probably a year now. Best purchase ever for the price! It’s unbeatable.

I broke my carafe and was using a Mr coffee carafe with the old top. That was very frustrating for me because the lid didn’t click into it. I googled Black & Decker replacement carafes because the one for this machine was discontinued and this one showed up at Walmart. I bought it knowing that I could just take it back if it didn’t work. Much to my surprise it works perfect (no leaking) with this coffee maker. This is the one you want to buy if you break your carafe on this particular coffee machine
