Let me start by saying I’m all in on the Smart Home craze and probably have too many smart devices; SmartThings, Hue, Sonos, Wemo, Yale, Lutron, Nest, Google Hub, Alexa, Harmony, IP Cameras (not Ring) and various other Z-Wave devices. Up until now we’ve been controlling all these things using our phones and a small wall mounted tablet, so I was excited to give this a try.I can’t comment on replacing an existing switch, no fault of Brilliant but all my existing switches are about mid-torso which isn’t ideal so I decided to install this eye-level by adding a new single gang box, meaning it doesn’t physically control a light. It would be nice if Brilliant had a configuration option for this (Stand Alone?) but not a big deal as I configured it as “Always On”.The Good:It’s snazzy, definitely has a cool factor. Has a quality feel to it, pretty simple to install, configuration was easy and any device that wasn’t one of their supported manufacturers I was able to add through SmartThings.Honestly, since the purpose of a smart home is to be smart, we don’t have the need to control much as most lights/switches are on routines or triggered by motion, but it’s convenient to not have to get your phone if you do need to do something. The main thing we’ll be using it for is SONOS and our Nest thermostats and so far it’s been great for that. I haven’t tried the intercom (since I only have one Brilliant device) but thinking that will be useful too. Being able to display your own photos is a nice touch and we like that it displays the time and weather as well when showing the lock screen (see picture). The fact that it acts as a Smart Assistant (Alexa) is very useful.Future Hopes:The camera is just okay, tried the view through the Android App and it was somewhat washed out (see picture).Would like to be able to use Google Assistant rather than Alexa on the device (If there’s a way I couldn’t find it?).I wish it supported IP Cameras, I have five that I can see through Google Hub but not through this device.I’d like to see a “Stand Alone” version (controls no switch) that has a larger screen size but installs in a “single gang”, picture a Brilliant mini-wall mounted tablet!?My Conclusion:A little pricy, but very impressive. Glad I purchased it and will be buying more.

The install and set up was very easy and the system works very well. I have previously had a bunch of wifi lightbulbs controlled by Alexa but am switching over everything to Apple Homekit. It is interesting that you can actually have BOTH Alexa and Siri activated at the same time, since the hub has Alexa built in, it will control all the lightbulbs I currently have while I am in the process of switching all the light switches to Brilliant and still control the new Brilliant switches with Siri as well. Though you do have to have the separate Apple Homekit hub (iPad, Apple TV or Homekit speaker) to use Siri.I also got one single motion activated switch for the hall bath and one plug and the set up for those was pretty easy as well. I already had an Ikea Symfonisk Sonos speaker and that paired with Brilliant. It is nice to come downstairs in the morning with the kitchen light on, the coffee brewed and the music on.Yes, all of the plugs and switches are more pricey that others, but I have had limited success using others, and these are worked together seamlessly!I cant wait to outfit the rest of the house with Brilliant products.Oh, a few suggestions for Brilliant. If we could get a 2 outlet plug, if you could start connecting with ADT security cameras and doorbells, that would be great.

I’m absolutely delighted with my Brilliant Smart Home Control system. Installation was a breeze, and the setup process was incredibly user-friendly. I have multiple units installed throughout my home, and integrating them with Alexa for home automation was seamless. The convenience of controlling lights, thermostats, and even doorbells from a single panel—or via voice command—is a game-changer.But what really sets this product apart for me is the intercom feature. It’s incredibly useful for communicating between rooms without having to raise your voice or use a phone. The audio is clear, and the touch interface is intuitive. However, the speaker can not play music. That would be a nice upgrade for a future version. Overall, Brilliant Smart Home Control has significantly enhanced my home automation experience, making daily tasks more efficient and convenient. I highly recommend it!

I wanted a simple way to control to my smart home, from the wall and not be tethered to my phone to do it (when I come home, I put my phone away). Frustrated, late last year, I purchased an iPad to control the second level of my home – it’s not ideal and it must be charged. After a brief Google search, I came across this product – read a couple reviews and thought to myself, “well it seems to be decent, let’s try it”…BLOWN AWAY, this product is amazing and does EXACTLY what I need. I knew what I wanted, and it delivered. The setup was simple and easier than the smart light switches in my home to install. Customer support was even amazing (I reached out to them thinking I had a bad unit – but the update process just takes a really long time – pro tip!).This is the tech product of the year for me (I buy a lot of tech gadgets). I’m amazed by its ease of use, functionality, simplicity, thoughtful design and just how beautiful it is. As a result of this purchase, I’ve purchased six more Sonos speakers to fill my living space.Overall, great product and I’m still amazed at the value of this product.

The media could not be loaded. This was one smart home element that I didn’t think I needed, but man, it’s useful! I installed the three switch plate control in my front entryway, so now it works as a quick and easy place to check the weather, check the time, and even check the Ring cameras before I walk out the door. It’s nice having the dimmer switches for those lights, and especially nice to be able to use Alexa controls for it all. With two kids, it’s very nice when my tech is hands free. I can see this being the perfect control center in a living room to control a few sets of smart lights, making it the perfect home theater accessory. One thing I thought was a nice feature was that there’s a physical cover over the camera lens on it, so you can be extra sure there are no eyes in your home unless you want them to be. The camera is there so you can use multiple control panels as a video intercom system, but if you’re not using it, there’s a little rubber slide panel that covers it. Love that little touch. The install was very clearly laid out in the instructions, but our wiring was a little tricky, so we called the customer service line and got really quick answers. We sent a picture of our wiring configuration and they replied within a few minutes identifying our problem (needed to connect the neutral wire from a bundle that was hidden in our setup). Loved the quick and easy customer service that actually solved our problem. Can’t wait to hook it up to the rest of our smart systems!

I use two of these control panels along with 10 of their single switch panels to control various lights and other smart home pieces. At first there were some issues with stability (I believe due to adding the single switches) but after two updates they have been running several weeks without a hitch. The Brilliant controls give you a lot more options and flexibility to control lights than any other option. For example you can control regular lights, LED lights or even control Phillips Hue lights in the lighting fixtures directly (in other words power is always ON but the switch will speak to the Hue lights to wirelessly turn them on off0 which is VERY slick. Each of the switches has a built in proximity sensor (so you can use them to turn lights on in a room as you walk in) or as standard switches.Overall I am very happy with the Brilliant Control 3 and 4 switch main control units and the single switches that you can expand the system with.Keep in mind that these can do a lot more than just control lights. You can control your thermostat (if supported such as Ecobee, Nest and maybe others), dim lights, control other devices such as ALL SmartThings integrated devices as well as others. It can act as a camera and can show you video of supported external cameras such as Nest.I”m very happy with the units.

This is a mixed HONEST review to help you decide which route to take whether or not to start this journey! We LOVE having this installed in our home! If we’re home and busy unable to see our answer the “Ring Doorbell,” we can do it from here! We have family photos that fade in and out changing all the time….. it’s dynamic! It’ll control our “Wemo” wireless light switches throughout our home! To turn a light on, you don’t just hit our flip a switch! Because it’s in a specialized place, it’s in the perfect place for us! You actually have to, touch the screen, tap the correct icon, then slide the virtual button to the side to turn the light on or off! I’d Love to control the thermostat, but, unfortunately, it won’t control the Nest Thermostat! The BIGGEST DOWNFALL that we have is…… Amazon Alexa is available BUT won’t stream their music! The price outweighs amenities included….. unfortunately! I’d love to invest in these switches throughout our home despite the negative, but the price is much too high to make it feasible!

Recently I made the decision to upgrade my home to be more “smart”. After researching the best way to do that, I purchased the Brilliant Smart Home Control 2 switch panel for my living room. The unit arrived quickly and I found installation to be very straightforward. I connected it to Alexa, a smart thermostat and some smart plugs. It is very convenient to have a hard wired switch that can control the lights, etc. but also because it can control other systems around the house via voice or the user friendly touch panel. The video feature is very useful to me, as my teenage daughter is non verbal and has special needs. I can drop in and watch her while I am in my office or in the garage if I need to quickly check on her. Another great feature that helps her is the ability to communicate with the house to control the lights and fan using her alternative communication device (her “talker”) by asking Alexa to do that for her.I also really appreciate that the Brilliant unit connects to the Honeywell T9 thermostat I purchased. We are able to control the temperature much better now from the living room without having to get up. I will be looking to connect it to other smart home features (locks, etc.) in the future. I highly recommend the Brilliant Smart Home Control!
