I got the 5 cup cooker. Nice modern look. Grains of rice are perfectly fluffy. My son said it tastes very close to grandma’s zojirushi rice cooker. I bought because of the stainless steel inner pot. Easy to clean. not sticky unless you let the cooked rice in “warm” mode for a long time. I usually open the lid 10 min after cooking is completed, and will not keep “warm” for more than 30 minutes. It stays warm for a long time without “warm” mode. It takes about 45min to cook 1-2 cups of white rice. I do add more water than suggested – use “grain” level of water for white rice.I also cooked lamb pilaf. It’s just perfect. Good for cooking oatmeal too using preset timer. There is water coming around the pot which is easy to clean, simply using a dry towel.

The media could not be loaded. The bowl is built with High quality stainless with no chemical coating which I really appreciate. I am very impressed with how solid the entire cooker feels from the internal bowl to the high quality hinge, and buttons. You can just tell it’s well built and should last a very long time unlike most products these days. Another great feature is the cord is detachable making it easy and convenient for storage when not being use.

Wife is asian. Our Zojirushi was 10 years old, and the pot was getting a couple scratches on the bottom. Didn’t realize it was a teflon pan. We got rid of that sucker ASAP. This unit is great. It looks good, and cooks good. Bam. Cooks just as good as the Zojirushi for rice (Jasmine White Rice) and porridge (ie. Thai Jok). Cleaning is a breeze if you don’t let it sit and dry out – that is key. Hard rice sucks to clean no matter what type of container it’s in – teflon based or not. So don’t let it sit and dry out. Note: we don’t really use the measurement markers on the inner pot – we just use the finger method of measuring the water to use.Two little nuances with this unit that I’ve found:(1) If you leave it plugged in after cooking, it makes some kind of subtle noise periodically that makes you wonder “what was that?”. It’s like a little tick. So just unplug it when you’re done.(2) When your rice is cooked and the lid lifts up, the condensation collector water sort of floods down and around the bowl. It doesn’t get in the rice, but it does get around it. Our Zojirushi didn’t do this, but it’s not really a problem. Just keep a little towel nearby to mop up any condensation water after a cook.I’ll take these minuscule trade-offs over a teflon based cooker any day of the week.

First thing I cooked was brown sona masuri rice and it turned out just perfect! And cooked fast too, was ready right after I finished chopping salad! I love that everything inside is stainless steel, no nasty Teflon surface or plastic. However rice did stick to the bottom just a bit, and I expected this to happen with stainless steel surface (guess this is trade off to healthier cooking – you have to put in bit more work into cleanup, but it’s ok for me). I also bought stainless steamer basket separately and can’t wait to use it! Overall very happy, wish instructions were a bit more informative on how to operate it.

I lived in Taiwan for 25 years, so rice has definitely been a big staple of my diet for a long time. That said, I’ve never really been crazy about rice, I always thought rice is just rice, a side dish to the main meal. I’ve always had the same attitude towards rice cookers too, as long as it could make the rice, I didn’t really care. Eventually, I needed a new rice cooker and a friend of mine referred me to the Buffalo smart cooker. I could tell a big difference in quality between the Buffalo rice cooker and my old one from 99 Ranch Market. The one thing I liked about my old cooker is that it had a nonstick inner. The Buffalo cooker also has a nonstick inner, but what really impressed me is that unlike the old one, the cladding materials are Japanese made and have NO chemical coating. So, while the old cooker is probably a little easier to clean than this one, this is still easy to clean, something that’s very rare for a rice cooker with no chemical coating. As long as you wait 10 minutes after the rice has cooked before scooping it out, I can clean the rice cooker easily without any problems. I’ve become more health-conscious especially since the pandemic, and my friend sent me some google links about traditional nonstick cookware- they have Teflon nonstick coatings and release toxic chemicals in the air once they start breaking down. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that with the Buffalo cooker, and I wish I’d switched to the Buffalo cooker a long time ago. I don’t really care if it’s made in China, it’s made of high-quality materials that are much safer for my family’s health!

My wife gave me a very hard time about spending this much on an appliance that “should cost $100 at most”. Her words. So, against her wishes, I splurged and got my dream rice cooker. The first night we got it I cooked Jasmine Rice. More grumbling about how long it took to cook…an hour for Jasmine Rice!?$&@? Not my best sales pitch. But then I asked her to describe her Rice experience with the cheaper cooker. Uneven cooking, wet spots, etc… Fast forward to an hour later…PERFECT RICE! What? PERFECT RICE! “Worth the wait,” she says. The next we went to the store. “What other kinds of should we try?” she asks. What about that Brown Rice? No problem, we waited two hours for that batch, but it was even better than the first! What about grits? (She is from Georgia) no problem; I even found a recipe for grits casserole in the rice cooker. What about parboiled rice? She has now ventured out on her own. I believe we now have five different kinds of rice in our cabinet. All have their own setting, and all come out perfect. No more do I hear the discussion about cheaper rice cookers that don’t perfectly steam the rice. This device delivers perfection and keeps Rice for days in the extended warm setting. I’m not kidding, five days! I can’t say enough. The bottom line, spend the money. Get the larger model. Explore new rices. Smile! One of my best purchases. In addition, I love to use this rice cooker as the mini hotpot. It’s the perfect size for 2-3 people!

The heating system is excellent. The stainless steel bowl/inside is superior to 95% of any of the cooked I’ve seen to decades. No coatings, so purity in cooking is evident. Even the user manual is good! The control technology took a little adjustment. After that it worked like a dream. Very flexible for cooking other grains, if you want to. Pricier than many. Is far better quality than anything else in the price range and worth the investment. Cooks superb rice every time, no matter the variety. Want great rather than good? This is it.

Amazing rice cooker with heavy stainless steel inner pot . Super easy to clean as rice did not stick to the bottom of the inner pot . I didn’t even stir it after cooking. Perfectly cooked separate grains every time with 1:1 ratio of rice (long grain – Basmati ) and water . Made Indian rice porridge style dessert called paysam in porridge mode. The dessert is hard to make as it needs constant attention and stirring. It’s super easy to make in this cooker. Just added ingredients and set to porridge mode. Was also able to do sautéing in porridge mode for making biriyani even though the Cooker do not advertise about saute feature ..overall a 10/10 cooker and its classy, easy to use and clean ,and healthy as no need to deal with non stick coating.

Normally I’m too lazy to cook, I eat out for most of my meals. The pandemic changed that- now I’m stuck home and I have to cook for myself. That’s what put me in the market for this Buffalo rice cooker. I read all the reviews before buying, and the review that stuck out to me mentioned that this rice cooker could make a wide variety of dishes. Now, I use my old rice cooker just to make rice while I use the Buffalo cooker to make the main dish. My favorites are Spicy hot pot or Taiwanese hot pot, and there are 5-6 other dishes that I can easily make with just the Buffalo cooker.I really love the steam function- it heats super fast, and it’s portability allows me to make a hot pot in my bedroom (yes… I’m that lazy lol).Thank you buffalo, for this amazing product, and to Amazon Prime for delivering it within two days of ordering! Money well spent!

The media could not be loaded. Near perfect Thai rice!!! i’m not sure i even used the correct water/rice ratio, and it still turned out better than any rice cooker i’ve used before! I would like to share the videos with you if you are interested in this BUFFALO rice cooker. As you can see, with this nonstick inner is easy for me to get the rice, and ALSO it’s so easy to clean! This rice cooker truly exceeded my expectations! My standards are pretty normal, as long as it cooks my rice, I’m very happy with this quality and the price. I didn’t realize my rice could taste any better until I started using this rice cooker. Not only is my rice evenly cooked, but my rice is so fluffy! (Jasmine Rice and Brown rice). I left it in the rice cooker on warm for 24 hours and my rice was still moist and fluffy the next day. It’s nice to have warm rice at any time.
