This was a gift for my daughter-in-law, who I watched constantly put her tea cup down and reheat several times throughout the day when she realized she hadn’t gotten to drink it. I have never seen such a happy person when she received this mug and could control the temperature from her phone. She was thrilled and I felt like the winner!! Great mug and no returning to a plugged in hot plate for reheating.

Had this for almost 2 months now. It’s my favorite cup. It definitely keeps things warm for a long time. The battery life is more than enough to stay off the charger and finish a drink. I’ve gotten about 4 to 5 hours on a single charge. The most surprising thing for me is how easy to clean that it is. Most coffee will rinse out without any sort of wiping and I’m pretty heavy on creamer.The only downside to the cup, and I mean the ONLY downside, is that it’s 8 ounces. I wish that I had a 12 ounce version but I understand that might be harder to make and still get the same results. Overall one of my favorite purchases.

Let’s take a journey together about the Ember Mug 2 and see if this helps with your decision making process on wether this is worth your hard earned money!The Mug: The look/feel of this mug is premium. You’ll notice a little bit of weight that’s not too heavy and feels comfortable to hold. The outer layer is ceramic and feels smooth. Design overall is sleek and impressive.Setup/app: Once you download the Ember app on your phone, the setup process to pair my mug was very quick and easy. You’ll get to choose an RGB color for your mug and then you’ll get to play around with the home screen.The app is pretty easy to use. You can immediately scroll back and forth the temperature you’re comfortable with before you start a brew. You can swipe up to get additional presets for different types of coffee as well as tea. The app already has predetermined temps for you on black, green, and herbal tea which is nice. Settings is easy to click on and use for additional things like battery life and personalization.First Impressions after 2-3 uses: When you first brew a cup of coffee the app can tell how hot your coffee is which is pretty cool. When it starts to cool down, I was impressed that the mug kept my coffee at 140 degrees and stayed there. 30 min goes by and it’s still hot. The indicator lights go in and out when it’s heating up and stays a solid white when it’s done. To make it easy… it works very well.Tea drinkers: I also made some tea and worked just as well. I used the preset for 135 degrees for black tea and lowered it a few times to see if it adjusted at 130 and was happy to see it stays accurate to the temp you want in case you don’t like your tea too hot.Downsides: The only thing that I found an issue with, was the battery life. The Ember Mug 2 has 1.5 hours of battery while not on its stand and several times while walking around with the mug for 30-35 minutes the battery was reduced by almost half. Kind of disappointing but perhaps it’s a small issue that a firmware update can solve.Overall: I really like this mug. I think it’s a great purchase for any coffee/tea drinker that wants to have a consistent temperature at your desk, work, or on the go around the house. I never thought that the convenience of a mug keeping my coffee hot would matter all that much to me but it really does and I’m happy with the results. The battery life isn’t a huge issue since I would keep it on its stand most of the time, but something to think about if you’re moving around the house/apartment/work and you rely on that 1.5 hours of battery keeping your beverage hot.

My boys pitched in to purchase this for my husband for Christmas because he is constantly re-heating his coffee. I thought it was an overpriced coffee mug with new technology that my husband would not be keen on… boy was I wrong. He loves this mug. Every time he takes a drink he brags about how hot his beverage is. He has the app on his phone and can heat the mug to whatever temperature he wants. I believe it turns itself off after a while so no need to worry about it.

After four corded versions went to ember. It only lasts long enough for one cup- I’ma very slow drinker-so I got a second one. Love the rubbery bottom quiet to set down on stone kitchen cabinet

It usually take me over 1 hour to drink my coffee. I hate cold coffee. This cups works! I get a hot a cup of coffee from first sip to last sip! It’s expensive but worth it for me

I love my ember mugs and I gift them to first time parents who are coffee drinkers! It never fails that you leave your coffee mug somewhere and your coffee gets cold so this is literally the perfect solution to fix that problem!
