This door hardware upgrade is awesome. 15 minutes easy to install and program. Keeps my special closet locked at all times, with no need for hiding keys or punching in codes. We programmed 2 different fingerprints so only we can access the closet, keeping it secure from everyone else. Hardware matched our other bronzed door hardware much better than other bulky code locks. I love it!

Do. Not. Buy.At first the door handle was amazing. I bought it to keep my kids out of my room unattended, and it worked well. I installed the door handle in late August after buying a new house. Today is March 12th…..it’s been roughly 7months. When the keypad stopped working earlier today I thought the batteries must be dead – weird but ok. I put in new batteries and instantly smelled burning. A few seconds later the metal coils holding the batteries in place started glowing red, the batteries were hot to the touch, and the surrounding plastic was melting. I quickly removed the batteries and everything stopped burning/melting but now I need a new door handle. I’m just thankful it didn’t happen while I was sleeping.

It is a solid handle. It is pretty loud, which could be good or bad. For me, it means I know if someone is playing with it. The only annoyance is it rarely gets a good scan on the first try. I have never needed more than 2 scans to get in.

This is a nice lock that also comes with a REAL manual, which is unusual. Right now I am using it on one bedroom door and not using the fingerprint feature.However, the manual makes it easy to follow instructions. The lock is elegant and silky to the touch. I am not a great fan of fingerprint locks, So I don’t know if I will soon install the batteries and use the fingerprint feature. Fortunately it comes with keys too.
