This product is critical to your family or employees’ safety. Consider the price vs. what is at stake. Its small, easy to install, testable, and you cannot mistake the alarm when it goes off (as verified during the startup test mode). Its loud, as it should be.

This product is so easy to use, and really can be a lifesaver. I had been in a gas fire and if I had had this installed, it never would’ve happened. I thought I was smelling a dead animal in my cabin, but didn’t realize that propane is given that smell in order for people to be aware there is a leak. Unless you know that, it can be quite deceiving. The minute I walked in the alarm would’ve been going off if I had a Gasknight detector installed. Also, they were so attentive when I needed help with something.

It detects different levels/volume of gas and has different alarms for each, including verbal instructions (“Very unsafe. Leave now.”).Super easy to set up, loud & clear instructional alarm, and aestetically pleasing (very low profile and not huge).

Bought 2 of these, one for my kitchen and one for my bedroom hallway. Warmup voice time takes about 3 minutes after plug in. Was simple and it looks sleek in my 115v household outlets.

The set up was easy and it looks clean, no wires or mess. The alarm is very loud-if there is an issue, I am confident that the alarm will be heard from anywhere in the house.

We purchased a propane gas woodstove for our kitchen and decided it would probably be a safe idea to install a gas detector. After reading several reviews I was intrigued by one called the GasKnight. it was attractively designed and I liked the fact that it plugged directly into an outlet or could be used with an extension cord. When it arrived I quickly read the instructions and set up the detector; unfortunately it did not seem to be operating as expected. A card in the box said “Happy” on one side and “Unhappy” on the back saying if “Unhappy” call or email Jim N.; “We’ll make it right“. 12 hours after I sent Jim an email stating I was unhappy I received a reply from Jim asking for a little more information as to the problem saying “regardless I can definitely give you a replacement or refund your order“. I answered and told Jim that frankly I was amazed at the very exceptionally high level of quick customer service and told him that it gave me great comfort that the GasKnight detector must be a very good product. I told him I wanted to take a few days and try a few different locations and see if I could get it straightened out. He answered right back and said he didn’t want me wasting any of my time and that he would send me a new unit free of any charges. A few days later it arrived I went through the set up steps and everything is working perfectly.Note: during the set up period you are instructed to tap the alarm unit logo, listen to the warning message and alarm for 5 seconds, tap again for second warning, wait 5 seconds and tap for third level warning. The third alarm siren will stop after a few seconds and the red lights will continue to flash for several more seconds. They will stop and you will hear the voice repeat the words “warming up” every 5 seconds or so for another minute or two. At the completion of the set up cycle the alarm and flashing red lights come on one more time for a quick repeat of the first level warning. Ii stops after one warning statement and the unit settles into its one blue flash every 5 seconds letting you know you are installed.Doing business with a company represented by such a responsive customer focused representative as Jim was service “which exceeded expectations“ a superior goal for a company’s service level. I am very pleased to give a five star rating to GasKnight knowing that through my experience that individuals like Jim make a corporate statement “unhappy we’ll make it right“ a very believable experience!.

I recently ordered the GasKnight Natural Gas Detector and Propane Detector for my mother. She lives alone and recently had an issue with her gas stove, accidentally turning one of the knobs just enough the cause the gas to start leaking but not enough to activate the ignitor. She did not smell the gas which continued to leak slowly into her home for more than 24 hours. She slowly became confused, starting seeing things that were not there, and developed slurred speech. Sometime during this period, I happened to call her and knew something was wrong. Since I live across the country from her, I contacted one of my sisters who then went to check on her. The moment my sister walked into the house she smelled the gas. She immediately got my mother out of her house, opened doors and windows, and contacted the fire department. Thankfully, my mother and her home ended up ok.This situation definitely raised concern as to whether it would happen again. I was unaware of the gas/propane detector alarms until I started doing some research. Shortly after I ordered the GasKnight Natural Gas Detector and Propane Detector, and my sister ordered a second.It is a great relief to us knowing that our mother has some added protection; while she can’t smell gas, she can hear an alarm. I am very happy that products like the GasKnight Gas Detector exist. A small price to pay for safety.

My girlfriend lost her smell for nearly a year now and cannot smell gas if there was a leak. Hard to tell how effective this works. Placed it right next to the gas stove so if someone accidentally hits a burner it should detect and alarm.

It looks good. It is a little loud and annoying during the initial setup – a very loud voice repeatedly says “warming up” but then it just sits there waiting for a real emergency. Glad I have one now.
