I just ordered my eighth motor and solar panel. These work fantastic, are very easy to install, and easy to pair with Hubitat Elevation. I live in the desert (PHX) and need the blinds to block the blistering sun. I have routines to close the blinds at 5% increments to keep out the direct sun on the East side of the house, then open at 11:30am after the sun passes over. I have the blinds on the West side similarly set to close in direct sun at 5% intervals, then open when the sun is going down and close completely at sunset plus a few minutes. They work flawlessly.I have been looking for a z-wave solution to open the blinds for a long time and have been looking at the cost in the famous internet blind shop and have been stunned at the cost of adding automation to even one blind (over $500!). When I found these for less than $200 including the solar panel so they don’t have to be charged at all, I jumped on them and haven’t been sorry about one bit. I still have a few more blinds to do and will be ordering the other 4 that I need to fully automate my blinds. One caution that the company does mention is to pair the blinds where they are installed in the house so the z-wave mesh includes them correctly. I had paired the motors in my office before installing them to the blinds and a couple of them were finicky until I unpaired them and them re-paired them in their actual location, now they work flawlessly.I have one large window over my front door that blasts a mega sun beam in the late afternoon, but I haven’t wanted to put a blind because it is basically unreachable and didn’t want to have it closed all the time. With this motor I can now put it in and have it automatically block the sun and be more comfortable. I can’t wait for the next motor and the blinds to be delivered so I can install them!

These iBlinds v3 Smart Blinds Z-Wave Automatic Blinds kits are the nicely integrated solution to remote tilting for Smart Things and Alexa I have been looking for.I had no problems physically installing the iBlinds motor, battery, and charger interface into my seven 15 year-old Hunter Douglas 2-inch Country Woods Classics Delight with Grandover valance blinds.I had no problems connecting into my Smart Things home automation hub and then having Alexa find the blinds and then control the blinds easily. The motor is strong and not silent but not loud. The solar panel is a good way to keep a charge on the battery. These could be priced lower but other blinds motorization kits may not cut it for you.I had an especially bad experience with MySmarterhome SmarterHome Blinds Automation Kits. They would not Bluetooth pair with my S23 Ultra Samsung Android phone. Just would never pair. After weeks of trying with MySmarterHome tech support as they revised their server software and app software there was no success or solution to being able to pair so I had to return their kits.I hope you choose the iBlinds v3 Smart Blinds Z-Wave Automatic Blinds kits for your Smart Things / Alexa home blinds automation and enjoy these like I am. They’re great.

I like that it’s easy to install. I used with the aeotec SmartThings hub and existing 2 inch blinds. Very quiet and quick to open and close I set mine on automation to open a set amount after dawn and close just before dusk. Makes me actually open my blinds! Great for hard to reach blinds. The battery life seems really good I don’t think I will need to charge more than twice a year. Will be getting more

I just bought one to try it out and ir works really good, it took me like an hour to set it up, as the rod was kind of hard to take out and to slide out. Besides that excellent product. I will be buying 4 more for my other windows. It will save me money on AC during the summer for sure.

We’ve been following this product for some time and have been thrilled to have these installed in our home as we have many blind coverings throughout the house. Install was the most difficult thing, but instructions are clear and easy to follow! Will purchase more for whole house.

Used this product to help my mother open and close her windows with her phone and Alexa. She loves it! Will be getting some more for my own Home.

The installation was not complicated and the paring using HOMESEER did not have any problems. It is easily controllable and responds very quickly.👍

First of all, I didn’t buy these from Amazon as I’ve been a user since their original v2 Kickstarter-esque release several years ago, and have added more since then as they’ve released the current v3/v3.1. I’m now up to my original 3 v2, and have added 4 of the current v3 generation, with no plans to stop. They just plain work, are high quality, and are backed by customer service that has gone out of their way to help me even at times when I felt they shouldn’t; for that I’m among their biggest fans and reward it with further purchases.Go back many years ago and I was looking to add automation to my 2.5″ blinds, but could only find one option. However, it was entirely WiFi based with no indication of ZigBee/Z-Wave upgrades in their future (MySmartBlinds). Luckily I stumbled on the HAB website where they were still very early in their work with plans to release in a year or so. I signed up for progress notifications and (im)patiently waited as I continued to add more and more smart home devices, went from SmartThings v2 to Wink to SmartThings v3, and all around matured my automated home setup while still desperately wanting to fill the void of automated blinds since ours are all over the house and generally inaccessible behind couches. When their email that they were ready to open their Indiegogo came, I seriously set an alarm and was the first order in that early morning (ok, maybe I was second, but how can I really know). So, the original v2 was perfect for what was available at the time, in my opinion. They’ve since made the motors faster and quieter and upgraded to S2 security Series 700 Z-Wave chips with the v3, and I’m sure there are other subtle things I don’t realize, but my point is that they released a rock solid product from the get go and have only improved it with these later current versions. Installation is insanely simple, they work great, the customer service has been phenomenal in any interaction I’ve had with them and earned my repeat business as a result. I’ve since changed hubs again to Hubitat and, as with SmartThings, they have a fantastic support page with device handlers and OTA firmware upgrades.I have my blinds open and close once each day at sunrise and sunset, and the batteries really last 6 months with those settings, though would likely go much longer. I just personally charge all of the blinds twice a year so that I don’t have to monitor the battery levels. I only recently purchased the solar kit to put on still more iblinds that I’ve ordered to put in to our seasonal vacation homes, so I can’t yet report on its performance, but I also don’t find charging them to be a chore at all in a regular home.

I have five of these installed in blinds in my home, purchased directly from iBlinds before they began selling them on Amazon. I love that I can set up automations (using Hubitat, same would apply in SmartThings and other Z-Wave hubs) to open the blinds automatically in the morning, adjust them during the day to account for changing sun angle, and close them in the evening for privacy.I allow my automations to control the blinds for the most part, but also have enabled several light switches and Lutron Pico remotes to control the blinds directly when we want to make a change from the automated settings. The manual option is helpful, but requires being able to reach up under the valance to get to the iBlinds button, so don’t depend on that unless you’re tall enough. They battery lasts very long, I have had mine for well over six months and never saw them get below 40%. iBlinds includes a very long USB cord and quality charger to make it easier to get power to the batteries when you need to charge them up. They have a solar option that we didn’t get, but I have heard it works well.Installing the motor takes about 20 minutes, and is relatively easy if you have just a little general DIY experience around the house. The video instructions are easy to follow.Recommended.
