Sensor is designed more for doors that open towards you. Doors that open away from you the sensor would need to be installed to non occupant side.

This contact sensor is a great addition to your smart home.Installing it was fairly easy, you just stick one side to the door or window and the other to the frame so they get close when closed and they are ready to use.You use their app in order to set up and use the sensor which I found was intuitive to use and worked quite well however I connected it to Alexa pretty much straight away and mainly used it through the Alexa app so that I could integrate it into my smart home. This worked very well and allowed me to use it as a trigger in routines.The sensor seems reliable and works well. Overall, I would recommend it.

Like all these contact sensors, you can use them to detect anything opening or being pulled apart – a door, a window, a desk drawer, etc.They work by a magnet, in the smaller of the 2 pieces, holding a small switch, in the larger of the 2 pieces, open. When the 2 pieces are pulled apart when a door or window opens the magnet loses contact and the switch closes causing a signal to be sent to your phone or Alexa. It’s a simple, yet reliable solution. If you find that the smaller of the 2 pieces is too big and doesn’t fit where you want to mount it, then you can easily remove the magnet from the plastic and glue it to the door (and even paint it if you want).The product works via the Tuya app on your mobile, and can easily connect to Alexa for extra notifications.

I got this door contact sensor for my summerhouse , It runs from 2 x AAA batteries included, The sensor is fitted my two included sticky pads and each part of the sensor has a groove to line up with the other half of the sensor, Setup is really easy and it runs through the tuya smart app which I use for a few other things and think it’s a great reliable app. I am not sure what going on with some reviews but as you can see I have it stuck to a door that opens out and it works flawless. It also notifies my phone within 4-5 seconds every time, Great sensor and a good price.

Following a spate of burglaries from sheds and garages around by me I thought I would give this a go. It is easy to fit with the screws provided and also includes batteries. It is very loud and certainly a great deterrent which gives us peace of mind that the shed is more secure now. For just £14 it is definitely worth investing in.

The media could not be loaded. Great easy to set up door sensor not requiring any fuss with the wire just put in battery and ready to go.Easy to set up on smart home app whats great as i already have few other devices sharing same platform .Will show you when door is closed/open and send time stamped alerts .excellent product recommended
