Bought these for our bedroom which has two windows that are hard to reach. Wanted complete room darkening to help me sleep on days when I work nights. I did get the side rails to completely block light. Nice looking, Easy Install. Nice to open the shades with a remote. Keeps the room nice and dark when needed. When ordering be exact with your measurements. They make them exactly to fit your opening.

These blinds are very nice and well priced. If you have any issues you can contact the seller and they will get right back to you to resolve any issues you have. I have all of mine automated and programmed to close at sunset and to open at 7:30 am. They work beautifully and it’s very impressive when they all open and close together. Couldn’t be happier!

These blinds have been a FANTASTIC game changer for me for our bedroom. Insomnia plagues me most nights. Full moon nights and city lights are enough to wake me up. Installing these and coupling them with a white noise machine has made an enormous difference for me. Now let’s talk about how EASY they are to install. Less than 10 minutes on each (I ordered one to try and see if I like them or if they worked well, they did, I ordered a second one). The instructional videos are such a great asset. The ease of programming the remote for multiple blinds is impressive, and I’m not overly technical. I’ve since ordered the side slots to block a bit more light on one of the blinds. I installed one on the inside of the frame, and one on the outside. I found that the inside mount would benefit me best by using the side slots. I’d give these blinds 6 stars if I could!! HIGHLY recommend!

We couldn’t imagine not having these in our bedroom. They work quite well. Programming the stop points is such a nice feature. Good quality, full blackout, all that it advertises. Would buy again.

The blind is very elegantly designed, easy to install and works well. There’s no charging information in the instructions other than:“The charging motor need to be charged every three months.” There’s a notation in the package that the motor battery needs to be fully charged for 6 hours before installation. A red LED lights up on the motor bezel while charging, then goes out when fully charged. After a full charge, if the charger is plugged into an outlet and the cable is plugged back into the motor, the LED light does not come back on to indicate charging has begun. I assumed the battery needs to be discharged to a certain level before the charge cycle is allowed to begin again. There’s also no indication as to whether the charger and cable can be left plugged into the motor and powered during use, so I left the cable plugged into the motor for this installation, but chose not to plug in the charger block again until the battery needs charging. The remote’s programming instructions need to be re-written so they make better sense in English. The Mandarin-to-English translation is choppy, vague and has the typical typos and grammatical errors. The mounting bracket receptacle on the motor end of the blind is a very tight fit in a few of the available indexed positions. Using a small amount of silicone grease on the male portion of the bracket before insertion will help to ensure that it inserts into the motor’s receptacle completely.Overall I was very impressed with the blind, and most importantly, the senior customer that I purchased and installed this blind for was happy as well.

INSTRUCTIONS TO PROGRAM REMOTE CONTROLThe remote control will control several shades. The key is that the shades need to be programmed all on a single channel in order to work together.I have 3 shades and programmed my remote so that channel 1 would control the first shade, channel 2 the second shade and channel 3 the third shade. Then I programmed channel 4 to operate all 3 shades at the same time. Here is how to do it:(Before you do anything you have to put a 2032 button battery in the remote. It doesn’t come with one.)First pick a channel for your first blind. (Channel 1 would be the best option)Poke the program button on the shade until the LED light comes on and the shade moves up and downPoke the “Set” button in the battery compartment (the one to the left of the battery) one time to link the channel and the shade togetherHold the program button on the shade again until the shade moves up and down and the LED light goes off. Now this shade can operate by itself when you choose channel 1 on the remote.Next choose channel two on the remote and follow the same instructions as above for the second shade. Then again for the third shade. Now when you choose that particular channel on your remote it will operate that individual shade. To link all three shades so that they operate together do the following:Choose channel 4 (or whatever channel is available) and then poke the program button on the first shade until it moves up and down.Poke the “Set” button in the battery compartment once, then hold the program button on the window shade until it moves up and down a couple of times and the red LED light goes off.Do the same thing for each shade still using only channel 4 (or whatever channel you chose to operate all the blinds simultaneously) Once you program all three shades to operate on channel 4 you need to go back to each shade’s independent channel and get them all to the same level. Then go back to channel 4 and when you press the up and down button all three will operate together.SETTING THE AUTO STOP POINTS:Choose the channel for whichever shade you want to set the stop on. Hold the down button and the “Set” button at the same time until the LED on the shade blinks and then release the buttons. Next lower the shade using the down button until it is where you want the “Auto Stop” to be. While in this programming mode you can use the 25% button and the 75% buttons to micro move the shade up or down so it is in the exact position you want it to be. Now poke the “Set” button on the back of the remote.Follow the same procedure to set the “Auto Stop” for the UP position. Now when you go back to channel 4 (after you have positioned each shade to the same height) it should operate all three shades together.

I’ve had these for almost two years now and remain very pleased. I did an interior mount, and it was difficult to get the brackets screwed in but no more so than any other blind I’ve installed.Since this was for a baby-room, it had to be blacked out. There are several comments in the reviews to the effect that, “Light leaks around the sides!” My son’s a radiologist, so I’m an expert with blackout blinds. Here’s the key tip: Side channels are essential! If you don’t do side and bottom channels, interior-mount blinds will NOT be blackout. Buy side channels online and install them so that light finds it difficult to leak around the sides of the blinds. A bottom channel is also required, and I found some convenient extruded aluminum U-channel at Home Depot for about $12. When lowered, the darkening is really impressive. If I wanted to tune it even more, I would use felt between the side-channels and the wall, and install additional material at the top of the blind where light leaks OVER the roll. That last leak is the hardest to fix, and plastic foam sprayed black has worked there in other projects. Still, this was fine for my grandbabies to sleep in darkness in the middle of the daytime. Finally, this blind requires periodic recharging. The wood valance is held on by strong magnets, but it can be yanked down in a minute and a phone-charger battery tops off the blinds in less than an hour. I probably charge less than twice a year, but don’t use the blinds daily. The remote control worked fine for local use, but at the time I wanted home automation control over the blinds too. It is NOT a Zigbee motor, but a Bond Bridge (BD-1000, not the Pro version) that I use for ceiling fans was able to clone the remote-control signals giving me full access from Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, etc. It runs through the Bond cloud of course, but that’s been fast and reliable.I would buy them again, except I’m going for all-Zigbee going forward. If that’s not a problem, they’re a great deal and very versatile.

I am writing this review in regard to customer service for the roller blind that arrived damaged. So far, I have found it somewhat difficult to find a contact number for Zshine that works. The phone number listed gives a voice automated response that states, “sorry that this person cannot accept calls at this time.” I attempted to go through the Amazon return section and it states that this item cannot be returned due to health concerns. I’m assuming that is because the item is manufactured in China and is considered a health concern. I have also sent an email through the chat session with the company so we will see how quickly I receive a response. I will adjust my rating with the timing of the process.Day 3: Zshine responded with emails (1 each day). Their responses have not resolved the issue and when I respond through email, I don’t hear back until the next day. I continue to attempt to call, but get the same automated response. All I am trying to get is two brackets to hang the roller shade without the valance and be refunded for the damaged valance that arrived.July 7: Follow Up on Zshine Customer ServiceI will admit, Zshine continued to reach out on a regular basis to resolve my issue. It took a little time to receive the brackets I needed, but with the 4th of July holiday it is understandable. Zshine customer service has been very good. I miss the days of speaking to someone on the phone, but regardless, they have a satisfied customer. I am just beginning a house remodel and will be buying additional roller shades from Zshine now that I know I will get good customer service, along with a quality shade.
